What to Expect From Your Session With Lynn Dotson Photography

Contact For Availability & Booking:

Email to check availability for your estimated due date. Most parents contact me a few months prior to their due date. I only accept a limited number of sessions per month. Booking in advance ensures I will be available to schedule your session accordingly once your newborn has made their arrival earth-side.

After availability has been confirmed, I will email you a link to book your desired session(s).

After Baby Is Born/Before Your Session:

When your newborn has arrived, I asked parents to send me a quick email, ideally 1-2 days following the birth, letting me know. This is when I will go over my schedule and send you my next available dates, and we will schedule your session date & time.

Generally 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled session, you will receive your appointment reminder email accompanied with your newborn session prep guide. Your newborn session prep guide is filled with important instructions and tips, I highly encourage parents to follow prior to and during your session. This guide helps to ensure for a smooth and successful newborn session.

After Your Session:

Typically within 1-2 days following your session I will post a collage of sneak peeks to my Instagram & Facebook business pages. 1-2 weeks following your session you will receive your soft proofing gallery via email. Soft proofing galleries include all of your partially edited portraits. Soft proofing galleries will only be color adjusted. Soft proofing galleries will not include background blending, skin retouching, etc. Your sneak peeks posted to social media will be the only portraits fully edited in your soft proofing gallery. You will receive a code along with instructions with your soft proofing gallery on how to select your portraits that are included with your session fee. This is when you will also have the option to purchase additional digital portraits, prints, albums, etc.

After you select your final portraits, I will finish fully editing only the portraits you selected. Generally, final edit galleries are completed and emailed within 48 hours. If you have purchased your ‘Complete Digital Collection’, these galleries are bigger, and delivered on a wooden USB for safe keeping. ‘Complete Digital Collections’ are generally completed within 1 week, following your soft proofing gallery, and will be shipped to your mailing address free of charge.
